Yay! (Lotsa news)

I passed the 3 hour glucose test! I was pretty worried because I cheated and was able to pull my results from the hospital database yesterday (we have access through work) and to me, it looked like I failed (according to how the results are supposed to be read, anyway), although not by much. I got pretty worked up about it (who me?) because I kept thinking about how much I might have to change my eating habits, not to mention doing finger pricks multiple times daily to check blood sugars. I managed to get Jon upset too, because no matter what he said to try and make me feel better, I wasn't hearing any of it.

Apparently, they called the house this morning to tell him that the results were fine and not to worry about it. He didn't actually say "I told you so" (boy, I love that guy!), but if he had, I wouldn't have blamed him!

So, to make a long story short, things are still going swimmingly here in the 'Burg. Except for the heat, which has made my hands and feet swell, plus that sleeping is getting to be a serious problem. Other than that, I can't complain too much. Well, except that I feel like I weigh about 300 lbs and get short of breath alot. Gee, I guess I can complain!

We're heading to Ohio this weekend to see Jon's Grandma (who is turning a very healthy 90) and some of his other relatives on his Dad's side for a party/reunion-type thingie, and his aunt on his Mom's side, who has a nice little farm in the same town. We always have a good time when we head out that way, so we're really looking forward to it! 'Course, there may be a bunch of pee stops along the way for you-know-who!

I'm also really excited about our showers next month...one's on 8/16 here in PA, the other's on 8/23 in NY. I am trying to be good and not peek at the registry, I swear!

We start childbirth classes at the end of this month as well...it's a 6 week course that (I hope) will give us a good idea of what to expect when it comes time to actually have this kid (this is the part that makes me real nervous, LOL!). It also includes a tour of the L&D floor at Harrisburg Hospital, which I hear is pretty nice. I also signed us up for a 2 week course at the end of August that deals with the care of a newborn. Yeah, I'm sure lots of people figure it out on their own, but never having spent much time around babies, it'll make me feel better!
Guess that's all for now! As always, I'll keep you guys updated as much as possible.
