Tour (and stuff)!
We took our tour of the L&D floor at Harrisburg on Tuesday and we were glad we did! The floor is very secure...Jon will get a white wristband that gives him unlimited access to it (and free parking!). Visitors get a different color, but everyone on that floor is accounted for. The baby will get 2 bands, one on his ankle and one on his wrist, that match mine and Jon's.
The LDR (labor, delivery & recovery) rooms are really, really nice. They're private (yay!), way bigger than we expected, and very homey looking, with pretty wallpaper, a nice headboard, and a huge bathtub with jacuzzi jets! Depending on which room you get, you may also have a river view, which was very nice as well. Everything is right there that the staff will need...behind a small door is where they keep all the stuff they'll use on Logan when he's born so they don't have to keep running in and out for things. Our instructor told us that you know you're getting close when the nurses start opening the packages in that little room! There's also a large chair that converts into some sort of sleeping device in case Jon wants to spend the night with us.
We'll spend the first hour or two after delivery there, then be moved to a more permanent recovery room. They are a bit smaller, but still very nice and private too. There's plenty of room for Logan to sleep in there if we want (which is recommended). All in all, the hospital and floor were a nice surprise!
Last night, we began going through all the stuff this kid got from the baby showers. Jon put the stroller together and made sure we understood how the car seat fit into it securely, plus how the bases for the cars work. We also organized the changing table so all those supplies are handy, washed the blankets, and made space in the kitchen for what we considered "kitchen stuff". He got a lot of clothes, but I still have to go through them and wash at least some of the newborn stuff. I think I might hold off on all of it though, because I hear those are outgrown very quickly. We had fun, though...made it seem very real that Logan will be here in about a month!
And tonight's the Journey/Heart/Cheap Trick concert at Hershey Park Stadium! It should be a really great show, except that for the first time in weeks, it rained this morning. According to all I've heard so far, it's not supposed to last, but still...c'mon! I had a dream last night that I went into labor during the song "Don't Stop Believin'"...let's all hope that doesn't happen
