New stove

Well, I guess we've put if off long enough...we have to get a new stove. It used to be just a cosmetic thing...it worked, but it was older looking and I really wanted one of those flat-tops. Once, a couple of months ago in the middle of the night, the buzzer started going off randomly. Weird enough in itself, but the big problem is that I couldn't get it to stop. It's one of those wind-up timers attached to the clock on the stove (neither of which we ever used). So here the buzzer is going off in the middle of the night, never having been used, attached to a clock that's never used. Jon finally managed to wrench it just right and it stops. For awhile. It did it again not long ago (in the middle of the night) and is again, stopped.

This morning at 5:30am, I realize the stupid thing is going off again and this time, Jon can't stop it, no matter what he tried. The next thing I know, he's taking a hammer to the glass over the timer/clock, trying to get at it that way. No go. So then, he pries the front of the stove off and snips the wire to the buzzer, just like a bomb squad guy. It was pretty funny to watch at 6 in the morning. At that point, we decide that it's not really just a cosmetic thing anymore and a new stove might be in order. It wasn't on our list of things to do in the near future, but I've been bugging for one almost since we moved in, so I can stop nagging the hubby about it now.

Hopefully we can get it bought and installed by the weekend, as Jon's aunt and uncle from Ohio are coming into town to see Logan, who, by the way, slept through the oven renovations this morning. Don't ask me how!
