B&B
Oh, the B&B we stayed at Friday night was so great! It was on a horse farm in Hummelstown (which is maybe 15 minutes from us) and right near Hershey. When we got there, we saw how big the place was! Between the actual house and barn/horse paddocks, it was humongous. The innkeeper gave us a tour of the house. When we first walked in...a sheet to jot down when we'd like breakfast...not a "breakfast at 8:00 for everyone" kinda deal. We picked 9:30! On the table she had at least 4 baked treats and a stand with 2 or 3 different kinds of cookies there. The home was beautiful with 3 or 4 big stone fireplaces that we could see...there may have been more, who knows?
She showed us to our room, which was amazing! It was actually bigger than our bedroom at home, with gorgeous decorations and a jacuzzi, plus our own private bathroom! The bed was one of those gigantic king ones that was at least 3 feet off the floor, I swear.
After we dropped off our bag, we went into Hershey for dinner. I had picked an Italian place that specifically had risotto on the menu. It's called Fenucci's and we WILL be eating there again. ZOMG, the food was out-of-this-world. I had a risotto with chicken and prosciutto in a garlic cream sauce. Yummmmm!! Jon played it safe with chicken parmesan, but I think he salivated a little when he saw someone else's plate with meatballs on it. They looked so good! Of course, he helped me finish the risotto and we enjoyed everything.
After dinner, we headed to the Hershey Outlets for some aimless wandering around. Jon gamely helped me pick out a new summer scent at Bath & Body Works, we picked up a couple of outfits and a toy for Logan at Carter's, and a Tinkerbell t-shirt for me at Disney. It was a good long walk and helped us work off dinner, only for Jon to have the idea of Friendly's for dessert, which of course, we did!
When we got back, it was time for some relaxin' in the jacuzzi and then we watched "Zack & Miri Make A Porno" with Seth Rogan & Elizabeth Banks...funny stuff! Oh, did I mention the dish of Hershey candy in our room?
We slept in until about 8:30, got showers and headed to breakfast. The food was really good (and all homemade), although Jon wasn't crazy about the banana nut muffins and neither of us was into the french toast with strawberries (he woulda preferred it with plain syrup), but we enjoyed what we could.
Before we left, we took a walk up to the barn to see the horses. They board them and there must have been at least 20 in the stalls, plus a mule and a couple of alpacas. Not to mention the tiny little barn cats!
When we got home, Logan was napping on Mom and they both looked pretty content. Mom said he was a really good boy and she had no trouble at all with him. So I guess we'll have to do this again sometime!
