Dada!

Logan said "Dada" for the first time today...and in front of Jon! It was adorable!

He puts his hands in the air (sometimes) when you ask, "How big is Logan?" "So big!" Awwww!

20th High School Reunion!

Jon, Logan, Mom, and I went up to good 'ole Harpursville, NY for my 20th high school reunion this past weekend. Talk about something making you feel old, haha! It took us 4 hours to get there, due to all the construction on I81 (hate that road!), and then we got to Grandma's, where we saw her, Aunt Joni, Uncle Rick, Richie, and Pete. Logan was only 2 months old the last time we were up there, so he had grown quite a bit and had lots of fun tricks to show everybody. He even got a cool set of drums that he loves to bang on!

We checked in to the hotel and after some shuffling around (they put us in a room where someone was literally banging a hammer in the room above us...not condusive to getting a kid to sleep), got Mom and Logan settled in while Jon and I got ready to head to the Hitchin' Post. I was hoping to make part of the cocktail hour, but because of the hotel snafu, we missed it all. We got there in time for dinner at 7, though.

Dinner was a lot of fun! Jamie had saved us seats, so we were sitting with him, Terri, Aaron (who actually came...we were so happy!), Charlie, Angela, and Teresa. It was like old times! After dinner, I started making the rounds of the tables, saying "hi" and catching up to everybody I could. It was just awesome seeing all those old friends after so long! We stayed until around 11, then went back to the hotel to get some sleep.

Back in the room, Mom had gotten Logan to sleep, but not in his playpen (I was not surprised...he's never actually slept in there before.)...so he was fast asleep on the bed. No problem, Jon moved him successfully and we fell asleep. Until 2am, when the kiddo woke up and I couldn't get him back to sleep. Out of desperation, I put him between us (for the first time, ever) and after some snuggling and getting comfortable, he fell asleep until 7:30am. Even though it was a king bed and we had plenty of room, I mostly spent the night worrying we'd roll over onto him. At least he gave us an extra 1/2 hour, lol!

We went to the picnic at Cole Park, which would've been great, had the weather cooperated. It was cool, windy, and rainy pretty much the whole afternoon. It was fun to see everyone's kids, especially since there were only 2 real babies there...Logan and Julia (Charlie and Angela's little girl). Some of them were in high school already...guess we did get a late start! Props to the Reunion Committee...they did a great job!

We left after a couple of hours, mostly due to the weather and the fact we had a 2 1/2 hour drive ahead of us, which turned into 4 again. Yay for 1-lane traffic on I81 in the summer. Logan kept it together until the last leg, when he had a little meltdown, but we can't blame him much...he was confined to a lap, car seat, or stroller most of the weekend. We were very proud that he did so well, although it'll be a long while before we take another road trip! It's so tiring for all of us!

I took yesterday off, which I'm very glad for...we all needed a day to relax after the weekend and to get a few things done. Jon and I think we've finally picked out some tile for the kitchen backsplash, so I'll update as that gets finished, hopefully sometime soon.

GO HORNETS! :D

Catching up...

Just a few things to note about Logan...he's doing so many things at the same time that I forget to add them to the list! Recently he's been giving kisses...big, wet, sloppy kisses! To us, his grandparents, his stuffed animals, whatever's in reach! He's also been hugging us a lot lately with both arms around our necks. Awwww!

About a month ago, he had 1 bottom tooth in. Now he's got the other bottom tooth in and his two top teeth are poking through now...at the same time! Poor kid's not himself sometimes due to the discomfort, but he's trying to be brave.

He's all over the place and hard to keep up with! He loves crawling all over the house and loves to practice walking with his hands in yours. He's been getting extra adventurous lately by almost letting go of the couch or chair when he's standing! Yikes! :)

New car!

I can't believe I'm finally getting a "family-friendly" car...LOL! I've had my Mustang for 14 years and I love her to pieces, but the bigger Logan gets, the harder it is to get him in and out of the backseat. With his infant seat, it was a pain, but not too bad, because he could just snap in and out of his seat base, but now that he's in a big boy seat and 23 lbs, it's near impossible. Jon doesn't mind loaning me his car once in awhile on the weekends, but he hated driving the 'Stang and without something bigger with a carseat, Logan and I were pretty well trapped unless we could walk to wherever I wanted to go. Which, unless you include the plaza within walking distance, wasn't to very many places.

So today we went back to the Kia dealership where we got the Sorento and have put a deposit on a Sportage! It's slightly smaller than Jon's car, but almost exactly the same in every way. Four wheel drive and everything! It's a cool color called "black cherry"...it looks black, but if the light hits it just right, your can see the tiny flecks of red in it...very sharp! We got a good deal on it, but we just have to wait until Friday to finalize everything (that's the only day where everyone involved's schedule works). I'm happy with the trade-in we got for the Mustang too...right on the money as far as blue book value. Now I have a few more days to say goodbye... ;)

Clapping!

Logan started clapping for real for the first time today! It's so cute!! :D
